If we were having a glass of wine

If we were having a glass of wine, I would tell you that I am writing this from one of my happy places. On my front porch, in my LL Bean rocker, a glass of wine by my side and the smell of my garden under my nose.

If we were having a glass of wine, I would also tell you that my neighbor is grilling and I wish he did take out.

If we were having a glass of wine, I would tell you that Thursday is becoming my least favorite day of the week. It is field trip day at Bridget’s school. She comes home exhausted, overstimulated and just done with life. After school today I have about a 2 hour meltdown ahead of me, along with spoon feeding her dinner and counting the minutes until bedtime.

If we were having a glass of wine, I would tell you I am playing hooky one day this week. I am taking Abby and we are having an adventure of her choosing while her sister is at school. I hope when she looks back at her life, she doesn’t see the mom who worked all the time but the one who played hooky and had ice cream for lunch.

If we were having a glass of wine, I would tell you that I’m still on the hunt for a bathing suit. I think bathing suits are Life’s way of keeping your self-confidence in check.

If we were having a glass of wine, I would tell you how thankful that you are one of the ripples in my life.

If we were having a glass of wine, I would tell you I’m looking forward to this weekend. When I have NOT ONE thing on the calendar.

If we were having a glass of wine, I would tell you I did a boot camp class. It only took 3 days for me to be able to lift my arms above my head to put my deodorant on. I really wish Lauren and I could bond over pedicures rather than torturous exercise classes.

If we were having a glass of wine, I would tell you I wish you were sharing my porch with me and we were having this conversation in person.

Your spot on the porch sounds lovely. 🙂
Being at school all day wears those little ones out. My 6 year old was a mess each and every day after he got home from kindergarten.
No doubt Abby loved her day as much as you did. She’ll remember.
Ack. Bathing suit shopping sucks. Good luck with that.
