If we were having a glass of wine, I would thank you for meeting me for dinner. I cannot believe it has been more than 30 years since we last had a one-on-one. I cannot believe that we are old enough to have a “30 years ago” conversation. But I am so very happy that 30 years ago was a blink of the eye and a ripple of time. I promise it won’t be another 30 years before we are in one another’s life again.

If we were having a glass of wine, I would tell you that my freaking body hurts. My half-marathon is a month away and my body is telling me I am too old for this running thing. My bedroom smells like BenGay and let’s just admit that smelling like your dead grandmother is not a good thing.

If we were having a glass of wine, I would remind you to find a village. Any village. My day is made when I can send a quick message to a villager and then snort wine because of their response.

If we were having a glass of wine, I would ask you if there was a SnapChat support group. I let Abby tiptoe into social media with the app. Last weekend I had 40 unread Snaps and she was giving David a tutorial.  It wasn’t even 9 am.

If we were having wine, I would tell you how much I love my job and coworkers. How I regret it took me so long to take a chance and leave what was known for the unknown.

If we were having a glass of wine, I would tell you I resisted the urge (this year) to write 911 on who to contact in case of an emergency on the girl’s school forms. Sometimes being on the school committee is a bit restricting.

If we were having a glass of wine, I would tell you Bridget has a new dress obsession. Which was fine when it was 90 degrees, not so fine when you try to convince a stubborn child that she cannot wear a sundress in 70 degree weather.

If we were having a glass of wine, I would tell you I am a superhero. This week I managed to take off a diaper full of poop, wipe Bridget’s butt and put a clean pull up on without waking her.

If we were having a glass of wine, I would wonder what color superhero cape I should order and what my theme song should be.
