Remember when we used to count down the last month of school? I swear at one point in my life I looked forward to the end of school more than I did Christmas morning. Except there was no advent calendar filled with chocolate. Summer has taken on a different meaning.
Don’t worry I’m not going to bore you with the hardships of trying to entertain children, find childcare coverage and honest fear of the phrase, “I’m bored”.
Last summer ranks as my best summer ever.
We went to Georgia and took our time driving home.
Bridget got over her fear of the beach.
We went on multiple camping trips, as a family and with friends.
We hiked the mountains, waterfalls and the streams.
Most importantly: there were bonfires on the beach, accompanied by friends and watermelon margaritas.
This summer I am planning to spend exactly like last year. Okay, not exactly like last year. This summer I will make time for more bonfires, more margaritas and definitely more time spent with friends.
I can hardly wait.
What are your plans for this summer?

It sounds like the perfect summer! I have lived by the ocean for three decades and never once had a bonfire on the beach! How is that possible?

Ooooh, I think I need to borrow your margarita and bonfire idea in our backyard. I’m stepping into summer a little reluctantly right now with kids home, but this helps get me excited.

Having a fire pit in your back yard is a must, I have found. Margaritas just make them better!

Kerri: you live in a perfect place for margaritas, beach bonfires, and good times with friends! Glad that you are able to drive around to friends and family that also enjoy the good things of summer. This is not going to be a very beachy summer for us, and I have to admit that I’m feeling like something will be missing in 2015…..
