Throw back Thursday a time to look back at older blog posts. This post is pretty special to me. My friend Rachel gifted me with the Beautiful Mama Blog Award. Here is my response that was published on April 21, 2013.

Not quite a Wordless Wednesday
Milestones are awesome. Unexpected milestones, well. They are my favorite. This weekend we (gulp) gave away Bridget’s walker. She hasn’t used it in 3 years. For the love of books
I love to read. As in read anything as long as they are words. I sometimes embarrass Abby with my reading. Last week I was reading the new Rick Riordan book, Blood of Olympus. And her obsession with Elsa.
Revelations

Last year a good friend of mine and I had a discussion about how that happens. On November 11, 2013 I posted the question: do you need permission to be you?

Losing Innocence
I knew 5th grade would be tough. I expected her to grow-up a little more. I expected her to gain some independence, start moving away from Barbies and Fairies to explore more of real-life heroes.
I expected this to change due to society. From her friends and classmates who seem to be growing up so much quicker than she seems to be. I did not expect her to lose the shine of innocence doing a Social Studies Project. Continue reading
